Animal trap

Deerhunter playing all three albums in their entirety plus No Age - but tempered by the fact that seeing an Animal Collective-affiliated act over the course of the weekend would be pretty much inevitable. Hmm. Whether or not to go to next May's ATP would be shaping up to be a tough decision, if I had the choice.

Deerhunter's Atlanta-based chums the Black Lips will also be playing, having apparently received an official pardon from ATP. Barry Hogan had previously denounced them as "assholes" who, like Killing Joke and the Butthole Surfers, were banned from appearing at any future ATP events.

Meanwhile, Tinariwen, Thee Oh Sees and Shabazz Palaces are among TV On The Radio's first picks for their bash in June.

What I really want is more encouraging announcements for the Shellac-curated event at the end of this month - Future Of The Left were a welcome addition to the bill, but it's not looking particularly inspiring. It pains me to say it, but the National's line-up for the following weekend currently holds more appeal.
