Don't judge a book by its suitability as a display stand

Dear White Stuff (Cardiff branch)

I refuse to shop somewhere where a copy of one of my PhD supervisor's books is used as a pedestal on which to display a glorified flipflop. If I was feeling pretentious, I'd suggest it's a metaphor for capitalism's appropriation of culture as a means of selling us things - but as it is I'll just silently seethe.

Yours sincerely

Ben

(At least Saturday's Cardiff shopping experience was made pleasurable by a visit to the new Lego store and a chinwag with Gindrinker guitarist and now Spillers employee Graf when buying a copy of Neil Young's Harvest.)
